Internet Marketing for Beginners: Google Adsense and Adwords
A common phrase among internet junkies is that content is king. If that’s true, then advertising is surely queen. Google Adsense and adwords are two programs that use the power of advertising and key words to boost revenue for content publishers and businesses.
How can Google Adsense make money for content publishers?
Let’s say that a site has content devoted to an explanation of best practices for parenting. In that case, the site may also have ads pushed into its corners advertising counseling services for families, day care services, private schools, and anything that would be helpful for a consumer with children. These ads are provided through Google itself, and the program is what’s called Adsense. By applying online, a publisher gets access to a variety of ads targeted to the subject of the content on their site, no matter what it is.
The site owner gets paid for every ad that appears on their web pages, as well as how often a person clicks on the advertised site. The ads can change from time to time depending on customized preference. Users can customize the look of the ads, the type of ads posted, and the maturity level/relevance of the ads posted on the site. An “inappropriate” ad for a parenting site might be something related to abortion clinics. Usually, the example is more dramatic than reality, but the concept still rings true. The idea is that the publisher wants ads that browsers find useful.
Adwords uses similar technology except that the benefit is for the advertiser. The advertiser bids to have their ads on people sites using adsense. The ads themselves are generated, and the advertiser uses key words to link their ads with as much content as possible. Of course, they get paid every time someone visits their site and buys something. Some businesses get as much as ninety percent of their business through Adwords. Adwords also make it possible for advertisers to have web space in search results linked with key words.
When it comes to Adsense and Adwords, the name of the game is internet traffic. The idea is that a business and/or a content driven web site can make money without too much effort. Beneficiaries get paid right away, and the money is directed to their bank accounts. There are online tutorials available for both programs to make sure that everyone’s happy with the appearance and results. To get Adsense and Adwords for your site or business, enter the phrase “adword” or “adsense” into a Google search, and a wealth of information including tutorials and applications will be immediately available.
